RailState New Features Release June 25, 2024
Release notes June 25, 2024
Today we released some enhanced functionality within the RailState user interface (UI) and wanted to provide you with this brief overview.
Watchlist Report: Last month we released the ability to schedule a Watchlist Report. Now schedule reports with precise timing - choose the time of day, day of the week, and date within the month that best suits your audience's needs.
Map Functionality: We've added an expand/collapse button on the Search/Details card for more display space, and improved map navigation by retaining your map position in your current session when switching tabs. Our new 'go to' button instantly takes you to the filtered sensor removing the need for scrolling.
Navigation: Throughout the UI we have enhanced navigational items, such as retaining all Chart selections for your current session, duplicating a tab, or when saving a Watchlist.
These updates will streamline your navigation within the UI. If you have any suggestions or would like an overview of any existing features reach out to support+UI@RailState.com or click this link: Schedule an Overview
Further below you will find some explanations and ‘how to’ steps.
Watchlist Email Report:
We have simplified creating a watchlist report into a single card. Upon saving the watchlist, or selecting Settings on an existing watchlist, under Report Schedule select the desired frequency, and the remaining options will appear. Make selections and press Save watchlist to schedule.
Within Watchlist Settings, you can now specify the time, day of the week, or date of the month in which you want the report to be sent.
To do so, select Watchlist Settings, then specify selections under 'every day', 'every week', or 'every month' as shown below:
Note: The 'Time' shown is in the time zone as set in your user setting at time the report is set.
Under Reporting History, you can now see a summary of the last 20 times the watchlist report ran, and whether it was successful or if there was an error.
Note: We have added commentary to the bottom of the emails informing recipients how to unsubscribe if they so wish to do so.
Map Navigation:
We have added an expand and collapse control to the Search/Detail card. This is simply to create more display space for the map, which will help when presenting.
To make use of the new functionality simply toggle the expand and collapse as indicated below.
Expanded: (default)
Collapsed:
'Go to _____':
While on the Seach card within map, with a location filter applied, hover over the pin icon beside the location name and you will see 'Go to _____'. Click on the pin icon and you will be automatically taken to that location on the map.
Further below you will find some explanations and ‘how to’ steps.
We look forward to your feedback and suggestions.
