API Tokens
We provide two paths to creating an API token.
Path 1: Via UI
Once logged into the UI, select user in the top right corner, as indicated below:
Then select Tokens, then 'Add new token'
To create the token enter values as prompted. Note: At any time hover over the blue question mark tool tip for more details:
You can set whether the token expires or not as you create it. By default it does not expire.
If ever you want to change the token you can disable the existing one and create a new one. You can create tokens in advance with the 'Not Before' date populated.
If you populate the Validation Seconds it would set when the token expires. So if you want it to expire in a month, as an example, you can put a value of 2,592,000.
But again, at default we leave these blank which means they don't expire - so you don't need to do all that unless you have reason to on your end.
Path 2: Contact RailState
If you have API access but no UI access included in your subscription, have the primary API user contact RailState at support+api@railstate.com to have one generated and sent.
